EDI Training

In a diverse classroom setting two students at a table consult their textbooks.

Tailored training to empower your team.

Our training delivers the necessary skills and knowledge to empower all NIH learners to cultivate a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and productive work environment. EDI’s training sessions are led by our selected Cadre members to cover four major areas of core competency: EEO compliance, Reasonable Accommodation, diversity and inclusion, and harassment.

Training is conducted as classroom, instructor-led sessions that can be attended live or through AdobeConnect, and is available to NIH managers, supervisors, and employees who can access NIH’s Learn Management System (LMS). We deliver these training courses in both large, NIH-wide group sessions and smaller, specific sessions tailored to any NIH Institute and Center (IC).

Anti-Harassment Training for NIH Employees

The current Anti-Harassment training encompasses requirements for both the Notification and Federal Employee Anti-discrimination and Retaliation (No FEAR) and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) trainings. It is required for NIH federal employees, trainees, fellows, and contractors, and must be taken within 90 days of onboarding, and then on an annual basis*.

* Failure to comply with the training requirement will result in the disablement of active directory accounts until the requirement is met. Any individual whose active directory account is disabled is unable to sign into their computer or access emails.

About the Cadre

Since 2012, EDI subject-matter experts have delivered engaging and interactive training that dissects complex EEO matters and fosters greater understanding about diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Each expert, or Cadre member, is selected by the EDI leadership team following a mock training presentation and serves on the Cadre as a collateral duty.
